- The Emergence of Community in Aspen Meadows - How Cool a Moment.
Something very unexpected and humbling occurred this past weekend in Brian Head. It is one of those special “moments” we each have experienced in our own lives. And memories we each will never forget. It happened innocently, suddenly, and in just a matter of seconds. Right outside the deck of our Yurt field offices, among all of us who were in Brian Head this past weekend. It quietly appeared. ”The Emergence of Community” at Aspen Meadows. We each were in Brian Head for different reasons. Some of us to attend the Cedar Breaks at Night Half Marathon. Some to begin the process of individually designing our own future ski homes. And some new to Brian Head, who decided to become future Founders, discovering the serenity, soul, and tranquility of Aspen Meadows found in nature, the renewal, and the spirit of “Mountain Community,” which is authentically Brian Head. It was a magical moment to witness - new residents of a new community - each meeting each other for the first time - and discovering common interests - and fellowship - with some even finding “six degrees of separation” among their friends and lives. This moment was when we could watch, listen, and see new neighbors coming together for their first moments, now emerging in Aspen Meadows. Our special thanks to Anne Marie, Brad, Patty, Mike, KL, Ted, Lisa, Chris, Mike, Nelson, Sean, Mike, Brit, Roger and Lyle. From a midnight run with a surprise rainbow at sunset to an unexpected and humble gesture of a simple gift of wine by one of our Founders - the symbolic gift of happiness - finished with an early morning comet overhead. This weekend was a memorable time for all of us as a new community, and it feels like a turning point and a special moment for Brian Head. And how cool a moment it was. Thank you. - Happy Summer, Everyone!
In the past four weeks since our last communication on July 25th, we've seen incredible progress! We participated in or hosted three local events, including the introduction of "Brian - the Bear" in Brian Head on July 24th at the town pond, hosting a "Luncheon in the Meadows", and announcing the upcoming second Cedar Breaks at Night Half Marathon on August 25-26, 2023, together with paving our first roads in Aspen Meadows. Please enjoy our many videos here on our paving of Highland Drive, Peak Drive, Flint's Way, and Upper Steam Engine Drive, down to What Hut Way. Brian Head Welcomes Brian, The Bear! Brian Head Town completed the "Brian, The Bear" installation and ceremonies on July 24th. A wonderful investment made in public art for the entire Brian Head community! "Luncheon in the Meadows" We were proud to be asked to host our Local Area Business Leaders for a "Luncheon in the Meadows" at Aspen Meadows at our Yurt in early August. We had over 40 attendees from both Parowan City and Brian Head Town attend, including our two mayors, Clayton Calloway and Mollie Halterman, and many council members from both town jurisdictions, along with over 30 local business owners and Marilyn Butler, our general manager and managing director of Brian Head Resort. Both Marilyn, Clayton, and Mollie spoke on upcoming happenings at Brian Head Resort, Brian Head Town, and Parowan City, including the new "Free Snow Experience" for those learning to first ski & ride at the resort with more details to come this year, and the recent community pool renovation in Parowan, along with ourselves providing our community business leaders with an update on Aspen Meadows. The catering was by our favorite local small business owner, Dayla of Sweet Pea Farm & Orchard in Parowan, and the weather was perfect for the day and enjoyed by all! 2023 Cedar Breaks at Night Half Marathon! Cedar Breaks at Night Half Marathon returns for its second year to Brian Head. A night race from 6:00 PM throughout the evening to 8:00 AM the next morning. Aspen Meadows is proud to be one of the three founders of this event, donating use of our lands with the USFS and Brian Head Resort and Town where the runners all come by our Yurt on the race course down into Aspen Meadows as part of the last leg of this epic event! - Our new Model Home, Earth Day, "Molly,"and much more...
First, we wish to thank all of our early founders and friends for visiting Aspen Meadows and touring with us on-site in "Molly," our snowcat, since March 1st. Thank You. With all of our snowstorms now coming to an end in Southern and Northern Utah for the season, and after Brian Head Resort and Alta both achieved new annual snowfall records of over 400" and over 900" each as of today (Wow!), we have finally seen "that break" in the spring weather we all have been looking forward to. What an end of the ski season, but it's not over yet! Enjoy more late-season skiing and riding at Brian Head Resort this weekend on April 29th and 30th! Our Model Home Design. What was our inspiration? One word. Tranquility. We are excited to share our first Model Home design for Aspen Meadows. A courtyard-inspired, single-level home created to achieve quietness, calm, and serenity—a worry-free home design. Designed by our Architect of Record, Craig Elliott, Founder of Elliott Workgroup based in Park City, Utah, our 3,000 square foot, 3-bedroom, 3.5 bath, 3-car modern mountain model home will be built on Lot 42 in the Aspen Meadows Southeast Neighborhood. Construction begins next month in May. By design, the inspiration for our model home was simple tranquility which captured the views into the house – while staying close to the mountain in scale – both celebrating inward and outward, courtyard-inspired spaces – the trees, the southern light, the access – a design "of the mountain." A home that listens to its' own site, offers natural light and high-quality material choices – with distinct forms, views, and privacy tied to the site. We share our model home design to help inspire each of you for the mountain home design you and your family envision in Aspen Meadows. During your due diligence period, one formal meeting with our Site Architectural Review Committee (SARC) is required so we may identify the three development zones of your homesite together. More details may be found within our Design and Development Guidelines on our website. Our own Earth Day Celebration. We celebrated Earth Day and the Earth "month" of April with our spring construction operations beginning on April 10th. We have already started our 2023 construction season by clearing away the 2022/2023 winter season snow, helping expedite the opening of our Aspen Meadows stone pit #2 for the summer construction season. Fun fact: So far to date, we have crushed well over 15 thousand tons of our own crushed rock aggregates, harvested on-site from our mountain stone pits exclusively for our new roads in Aspen Meadows, saving hundreds of thousands of dollars in transportation costs alone up the mountain and re-using and re-purposing materials already on-site to their best use. Welcome New Founders. For those of you who have recently signed up on our website or gone under contract recently with your homesite choice since March 1st, we wanted to welcome all of you, just new to Aspen Meadows. - Introducing Aspen Meadows
Our journey begins... Exactly two years ago, we took in our first views of these elevated lands just after a fresh snowstorm that came through the mountains the night prior. During this day, these natural high-elevation alpine lands instantly stole our hearts, the same as they did for so many more before us, including Burt Nicols and Homer Vasels over 60 years ago. It was one of those special moments in life—our discovery of Aspen Meadows. Situated just under Brian Head Peak, the highest peak in Iron County, Aspen Meadows is a legacy, multi-decade, master-planned mountain resort and residential neighborhood that occupies nearly 2,000 acres of aspen and spacious mountain meadows. It is adjacent to Brian Head Resort, home to Utah's highest base elevation. The community's unique location will introduce a third public base area for Brian Head Resort, Aspen Meadows base lodge, that features unobstructed views of southern Utah's famous red cliffs, additional parking, and skier services. The Aspen Meadows long-ranged master plan includes opening up more than 850 acres of new skiing terrain and up to 7 fixed and high-speed detachable lifts in the future. "Aspen Meadows is a remarkable collection of alpine lands, with the perfect slope aspects for ski terrain never before seen by most visitors to this region of southern Utah. We're proud to be a part of this new chapter in our community's history as we share new ski terrain and resort amenities with the town of Brian Head and the guests of Brian Head Resort." A. - Founders Release Introduction Coming March 1st.
On behalf of our entire development team, Aspen Meadows Group, we wish to share our reminder today, as promised, of our upcoming Founders Release of our first homesites in our Southeast Neighborhood - Phase One, in two days, this Wednesday, March 1. Among all our recent snow storms arriving in Brian Head in the past days, so have your inquiries been coming in by emails and telephone calls. Thank you for your early questions. Each of your calls has been wonderful to receive, and it's been an honor to begin learning of your stories and passion for Brian Head Town and Brian Head Resort! Many of you have been asking for details of our first ski-in, ski-out homesites at Aspen Meadows, and we thought it would be helpful to list some of the key aspects of Aspen Meadows and our first Homesite lot release to help begin our communications. Why the date of March 1 for your first Release? Two years ago, on March 1, 2021, we were first introduced to these lands of Aspen Meadows, and we thought it also appropriate and symbolic to celebrate our announcement of Aspen Meadows on this second-anniversary date of March 1, 2023, with our first Release, of many future neighborhoods, the Southeast Neighborhood. Why is the Southeast Neighborhood the name and location of your first Release of homesites? Our first Release of Aspen Meadows we call our "Founders Release" of the Southeast Neighborhood - Phase One. For the very reason that our first ski-in, ski-out homesites are at the most eastern/southern point of our land and offer our highest alpine elevations and views possible within Aspen Meadows. This legacy neighborhood will have beautiful southern mountain views of Brian Head Peak, Sid's Peak, Brian Head Resort, direct adjoining ski trail views, and unobstructed, stunning views towards the north. We began here as these lands specifically helped the community of Brian Head Town best to start for multiple reasons, including future fire prevention. These first homesites will become some of our best-situated and located ski-in, ski-out homesites among our planned neighborhoods. Two fun facts are that over 50% of our best ski-in, ski-out homesites either directly border onto the US Forest Service Land or will run along our first ski trail designed between ski bridges one and two. And second, 90% of our homesites in phase one of the Southeast Neighborhood are either ski-in, ski-out homesites, or ski-out homesites, offering our first residents the perfect ski address in the future. Why the date of March 1 for your first Release? One key question has been admission and access to our property. With the significant amounts of continual snowfalls Brian Head has received this ski season, these snowfalls will limit access to our site and will not be possible at times; we are prepared to open up our site each day possible, but we will continue to experience closures many days to the property. Access will be by appointment only to begin with, based on the weather. Appointments may be scheduled by contacting us at 435.901.2500, and as more snows are yet to arrive, we will do our very best to accommodate each request for showings. Please be prepared to review and sign our required Release of Liability Waiver for all site visits and expect and plan for possible cancellations based on the weather until we arrive later in the early springtime. In the meantime, snowshoeing out to our Yurt Field Office to view our first phase is encouraged and allowed, based again weather permitting. Once more, please look for our Founders Release this Wednesday, March 1. On behalf of our entire team, we look forward to this opportunity to begin our 30-year legacy journey with you and our Brian Head ski community. We thank you again for considering Aspen Meadows as your new future ski home address in Brian Head, Utah. We are excited to assist you and your family in your next ski chapter and journey.
- Welcome To Aspen Meadows.
On behalf of our entire development team, Aspen Meadows Group, we all wish to share our warm welcome and sincere thanks and gratitude to every one of you who has discovered Aspen Meadows, our latest ski-in, ski-out master-planned community, and our new website of Aspen Meadows Club, we thank you. No introduction would be appropriate without first thanking the many men and women who helped bring us here today. That is the following founders and visionaries of this land, which led to the creation of Brian Head Resort and Brian Head Town in the first place. Please join us in our celebration, honor, memory, and sincere thanks to Burt, Homer, Georg, Stefanie, Dutch, Jim, John, and the over twenty-five individual Founders of Brian Head Resort & Brian Head Town. We are honored to carry on their vision for these lands we call Aspen Meadows in the future. Two years ago, on March 1, 2021, we were first introduced to these lands of Aspen Meadows, and we thought it also appropriate and symbolic to celebrate our announcement of Aspen Meadows on this second-anniversary date. So today begins our first communications on our upcoming first Release of Aspen Meadows in two weeks; we call our "Founders Release”. Look for our Founders Release on March 1, 2023, together with the introduction of our website, and introductory Founders pricing for Phase One of our Southeast Neighborhood ski-in, ski-out new homesites, all beginning our 30-year legacy journey together of our new community of Aspen Meadows. Last, we look forward to getting to know each of you throughout this process. We are here to answer any questions you may have. Please look for our reminder on Monday, February 27, and on behalf of our entire team, we thank you again for considering choosing Aspen Meadows as your new future ski home address in Brian Head, Utah. We are excited to assist you and your family in your next ski chapter and ski journey.
